Cara Roberts is a Reinbeck, Iowa, native and currently resides in Iowa City, Iowa. Her legal work primarily focuses on civil litigation, including personal injury, wrongful death, and a variety of commercial disputes, as well as appellate advocacy.
Cara is a 2010 graduate of the University of Iowa, where she received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication Studies, with honors. She is a 2014 graduate of the University of Iowa College of Law. While in law school, Cara often volunteered her time to various nonprofit organizations and served as a Court Appointed Special Advocate in Linn and Johnson Counties. Upon graduation, Cara was recognized for her service as a recipient of the Boyd Service Award.
Following graduation from law school, Cara spent two years as a judicial law clerk, assisting Iowa District Court Judges and Associate Court Judges in all stages of civil and criminal litigation. Cara began her clerkship with the Seventh Judicial District in Davenport, Iowa, before moving to the First Judicial District in Waterloo, Iowa.
Cara is a member of the Johnson County Bar Association, Linn County Bar Association, Iowa State Bar Association and the American Bar Association.
Cara is a member of the Dean Mason Ladd Inn of Court and the Iowa Association for Justice. Cara was recently elected to the New Lawyers Section Core Group for the Iowa Association for Justice.
Cara is admitted to practice in all Iowa state courts, the Northern and Southern Districts of Iowa’s federal courts and the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals.
