Product Liability Lawsuit Filed Against John Deere

A product liability lawsuit has been filed against John Deere by the family of a man who fell from a bulldozer when his seatbelt failed and was then run over by the bulldozer. The lawsuit claims that the seatbelt on the bulldozer was defective and that the bulldozer should have been equipped with a pressure sensitive switch that would cause the machine to stop running if the driver was no longer seated. The family of the victim has brought claims for negligence and strict liability against John Deere and the seatbelt manufacturer.
