Central Iowa Lead Poisoning Prevention Activities

The Lead Hazard Control Program, which services the Iowa Counties of Marshall, Hardin and Tama is promoting events throughout the week to recognize National Lead Poisoning Prevention Week. Events include, state proclamations, free lead screenings and educational campaigns. The will be an educational display at the Marshall Town Center, sponsored by Primary Health Care.

The Lead Hazard Control Program has helped 388 housing units to become lead safe throughout its region, which includes the cities of Marshalltown, Toledo, Tama, Iowa Falls, Eldora, Ackley, Union and other cities and towns.

Assistance is now available for certain residents to reduce or eliminate lead hazards in their properties. For more information visit the Marshall County, Iowa website.
